STO’s (Chair of Sociology of Technology and Organization) vision consists of the conception that, besides the expertise of engineering sciences and economics, socio-technical and socio-organizational expertise is at least equally embedded in the development process of technical and organizational innovations in a constitutive way. At the core of this vision lies the belief that technical and organizational innovations always go along with social, societal and cultural innovations – in close interdependency.

In GREEN-LOOP, STO’s role is to monitor and foster that the gender balance is maintained and potential gender biases are avoided during the overall project.

The Chair of Information and Automation Systems for Process and Material Technology (IAT) has a research focus on the description of control-related concepts with the help of meta-models and the management of these meta-models with formal methods. With regard to applications, the focus lies on the development of innovative information concepts for the continuous support of engineering processes, the optimization of process control and the management of plants during the lifecycle of a production facility. IAT works in close cooperation with leading manufacturers and users in the process industry and supports the national and international standardization committees in all areas of automation technology through its active participation.

In GREEN-LOOP, IAT’s primary role is to develop the research data management plan and perform workshops on how to use the research data management platform. IAT also supports the development of inline production, monitoring tools and integrating the monitoring data in the GREEN-LOOP platform.
